Become a Referee: Parents of Teens

If your child is considering becoming a referee—or has already signed up for a referee course—we invite you to consider joining them.

As a parent, you've spent years supporting your child's growth and development. Becoming a referee is an opportunity to continue that journey while making a meaningful contribution to our soccer community.

Many of our referee families started when a teenager signed up first and a parent decided to join them. What began as a way to support their child often becomes a rewarding experience for the entire family.

 Many teenagers become referees to earn money, stay involved in the game they love, and spend time with friends.

What they often discover is that refereeing develops skills that extend far beyond the soccer field.

Referees learn to:

• Communicate clearly and confidently

• Handle challenges professionally

• Demonstrate integrity and fairness
